About Katherine Arkady:

Katherine Arkady is a writer and researcher who believes the most compelling characters are born from a deep understanding of real people. She’s dedicated her career to exploring the human experience, using diverse sources of inspiration to create characters with depth, complexity, and authenticity.

Through her podcast, Takes One to Write One, Katherine bridges the gap between imagination and authenticity by sharing firsthand stories and insights that empower writers to craft more genuine, relatable characters.

Katherine’s journey as a writer began with a passion for documenting the world around her. Though she wasn’t always the best student, her teachers noticed her constant scribbling—not for math assignments, but for the stories she was building in her mind. Over time, she realized that in order to create characters who truly resonate, she needed to look beyond her own experiences and understand the lives of others.

From researching obscure professions to digging into diverse belief systems, Katherine’s curiosity about the human condition fuels both her writing and her podcast. She’s committed to learning from the world’s many perspectives to inform her work, constantly seeking new ways to bring authenticity into her stories.
